Joe is the driving creative force behind Hallowed Ground Outdoors. It was his cinematic vision that collided with his passion for the Gospel that brought HGO to where it is today. Aside from his faith, Joe’s dedication to the outdoors is only surpassed by his dedication to be the best husband and father that he can be. Whether it’s in the woods, behind the camera, or in the editing room, Joe has a laser-driven focus and a machine like work ethic that sets him apart and continues pushing HGO to the next level.
As a husband, school teacher, and co-executive producer of HGO, Jd has a full plate. The quality of the show is a result of his creative eye, attention to detail, and skill as a producer. With the ability to make a simple hunt into a compelling story Jd makes you feel like you are right in the tree with the hunter as it all goes down. His ability to wear many hats yet still stay focused on his faith sets JD apart. Although he plays a critical roll in the HGO production its his Soft spoken, humble, Christ like personality that makes him who he is.
Dane Stahlman is the camera junkie of the group. Anytime there’s a technical questions about gear or how to set up a piece of equipment, Dane is the one that gets called. The same dedication to precision and detail that he puts into his work as a cinematographer is the same that goes into his craft as a machinist. From the display racks in the big city department stores to the pieces that make up the machine gun turrets for our military, Dane has built and designed more than most of us can wrap our minds around.
As dedicated as he is to work and hunting, Dane would be the first to tell you that those things are secondary in his life to God and his family. It’s that focus on priority that leads him to be a better man.
Daniel Hood is a man who loves to hunt, but whose ultimate passion is to see God’s name spread throughout the world. As the college minister in southwest Missouri, Daniel is the lead teaching pastor for a college ministry that he founded called The Vine. From Peru and Mexico to India and Senegal, Daniel has logged more than a few air miles as he follows his calling to bring the Gospel to every corner of the world.
That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t get to spend a little time in the woods chasing deer and turkeys though. Whether it’s in front of or behind the camera, Daniel is always willing to work hard to get in the right spots to get the job done.
He may be a redneck, but he’s a creative one. As a cinematographer, Gary always has a keen eye for the most creative shots on Hallowed Ground Outdoors. In addition to putting in time behind the camera, Gary also plays a role in the pre-production aspects of creating the show.
Gary can get things done behind the bow too. He can usually be found in the woods with his primary partner and younger brother, Brandon. Together, these guys attack hunting with a fervor that’s only outdone by their passion for Christ.
Brandon Hamilton may be the youngest member of Hallowed Ground Outdoors, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t know what he’s doing both in front of and behind the camera. As a blue-collar worker that frames houses, Brandon is able to work hard at his job so that he can hunt as much as he can when the time is right.
One of Brandon’s qualities that strikes people the most is how quiet and humble he is. Although he’s experienced a measure of success in the woods that exceeds the norm and is one of the best trackers that you’d ever meet, you’ll never hear him brag or talk about himself. It’s a Christ-like quality that is a rare thing in today’s hunting industry.
Rance Walls is unpredictable. When he opens his mouth, it’s hard to predict what words are going to come out. Without even knowing it, he’s kind of the comedian of the group. As far as the outdoors goes, it’s hard to tell if Rance would rather hunt or get ready to hunt. Time that’s not spent deer hunting is time spent getting ready for deer hunting which includes planting food plots and monitoring trail cameras. For Rance, God’s commission in Genesis to subdue the Earth is one that he takes seriously!
Kyle “OX” Balik comes by his nickname honestly. Big dude, with a bigger heart, Kyle is a true servant and is one of those guys that is there for you ready to do whatever you need at the drop of a hat. Kyle plays a valuable roll within the HG team and wears many different hats. From hunting to production, kyle has a hand in every aspect of Hallowed Ground Outdoors.
Don’t let Adams soft handshake and friendly smile fool you. When its time to get the job done in the whitetail woods Adam is all business. Adams work both in front of and behind that camera is littered throughout the HG archives. His refreshing passion for the sport is contagious and his personality makes him a joy to watch.
Husband, Father, and big buck slayer. Jon plain has what it takes to get it done in the treestand. With more trophies on the wall than any person could wish for in a lifetime, Jon’s ability to consistently kill monster Iowa bucks is just one of the things that makes jon an invaluable part of the HG team. But with all the trophies on the wall, Jon knows what matters most-His Faith and His family.
